Primary focus lies within cardiac arrhythmia in sleep apnea. Recently, they established an obstructive sleep apnea model in rats and pigs, in which they elucidated atrial and ventricular electrophysiological changes.
The aim is to give insight into arrhythmia burden and overall mortality in sleep apnea patients in order to drive secondary prevention and to help develop pathways for future pharmacological treatment strategies.
