Head of Center for Clinical Heart Research, Department of Cardiology, Oslo University Hospital Ullevål, Oslo, Norway.

Research areas: Acute myocardial infarction, chronic coronary syndrome, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, diabetes, and the elderly.

Clinical studies, including translational aspects; Biomarkers, cellular and genetic aspects focusing inflammation, remodelling, thrombosis, endothelial function and the ageing phenomenon.  

Projects: OMega-3 fatty acids in Elderly patients with Myocardial Infarction (OMEMI); Mechanisms of Ageing in AF (OMEMI); Troponins in atrial fibrillation (TROPAF); Predictors for recurrence of atrial fibrillation after electrical cardioversion (PRE-ELECTRIC); PRediction and detection of Occult Atrial fibrillation in patients after acute Cryptogenic stroke and Transient Ischemic Attack (PROACTIA).
