I had the fortune of receiving Afib.no’s first ever travel grant to attend the 33rd International Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology and Therapeutic Risk Management in Montréal, August 2017. I presented a poster/study on the use of oral anticoagulation for atrial fibrillation in Norway from 2010 to 2015. Based on data from the Norwegian Prescription Database (NorPD), we found a large increase in use of oral anticoagulation for this indication, coupled with a rapid uptake of NOACs (Eur J Clin Pharmacol (2017) 73: 1417).
The poster was chosen for a Spotlight Session, which meant that I had the honor of giving a 3-minute oral presentation of the poster. The presentations were judged, and the best ones awarded. Although I did not win any prize, it was a nice and informative experience.
I would like to thank Afib.no for their support.
