More than 100 genetic loci discovered for atrial fibrillation

Professor Arnljot Tveit and Dr. Ingrid E. Christophersen co-authored a paper published in Nature Genetics on June 11, describing the largest atrial fibrillation GWAS study thus far, bringing the total number of genetic loci associated with AF up to more than 100. The study involved more than half a million people, including more than 65 000 cases with AF. The GENetics in Atrial Fibrillation (GENAF) study, led by Dr. Christophersen at Bærum Hospital, was part of the study.
