Afib.no hosted a public meeting on AF research for more than 200 individuals at Oslo Concert Hall on April 18, 2024. The meeting was free-of-charge and open to anyone interested.
«Incredibly good lectures. I learnt a lot! Thank you! – This meeting received dice 6», was among the feedback given by the audience.
Atrial fibrillation researchers from all of Norway are part of the national network afib.no. We now have more than 100 members internationally. Now it was time to share some of our exciting results with the general population!
Nine researchers from Bærum, Trondheim and Tromsø was gathered to present their research at the public meeting. We talked about risk factors, genetic and heritable causes, differences in women and men, treatment methods, echocardiography and exercise. Something for every taste! There was also a dialogue café, where the audience could come and discuss their favorite topic directly with the researchers themselves. It was a big success, with lively discussions around all tables.
«We felt a bit crazy for booking Oslo Concert Hall, but we know that atrial fibrillation affects a lot of people out there, so we took the risk! Knowledge is power – and having knowledge about one’s own disease contributes to good decision-making regarding health and treatment», says Arnljot Tveit & Ingrid Christophersen.
