Hypothetical joint interventions, social inequalities and the association with myocardial infarction
The aim of this PhD-project is to emulate a RCT to estimate the effect of joint interventions in a counterfactual setting, to evaluate socioeconomic status and its role in the development of AF and to attain a greater understanding of AF as a risk factor for MI.
Specific goals/research questions:
1. To use parametric g-formula to estimate the effect of hypothetical interventions on modifiable risk- and lifestyle factors on 20-year risk of AF, and to evaluate if absolute and relative risk vary with socioeconomic status.
2. To evaluate if socioeconomic status is associated with the development of AF, and to which extent classical risk factors are mediators.
3. To evaluate if the association between AF and MI is dependent on the type of MI (with or without ST-elevation), and to estimate the effect of time since first diagnosis of AF.
