Harald Arnesen is professor emeritus at University of Oslo, previous professor in cardiology from 1992. Active in clinical research through the last 50 years.
Head of Outpatient Clinic in Cardiology at Ullevål university hospital until 2009. Head of Competence Center for clinical research at Ullevål university hospital until 2006, Co-leader of Center for Clinical Heart Research at Oslo university hospital, Ullevål from the start in 1991, and still active.
Supervised/contributed to 45 doctoral theses.
Research areas: Prospective, randomized, clinical trials and related translational research within cardiovascular disease entities and athero-thrombosis.
Projects (AF-related): OMega-3 fatty acids in Elderly patients with Myocardial Infarction (OMEMI); Troponins in atrial fibrillation (TROPAF).
